It is a proven fact that if you can reduce the vibration affecting the carburetor, it will improve the fuel curve and increase horsepower. Sheet-metal aluminum intake manifolds are especially hard to keep from producing detrimental vibrations.
There have been several attempts in the last few years, with varying degrees of success, to dampen these vibrations.
The Real World Race Components Carburetor Vibration Isolators’ unique design relies on stainless steel thread inserts which are bonded directly to the special durometer rubber base, positively isolating the carburetor from the manifold.
The 7° taper in the throttle bores, and annular “shear” rings are molded right in to the rubber.
They function to not only increase flow, but are extremely effective in stopping reversion. If your sheet-metal manifold has the new design 8 machine screw pattern drilled into the manifold top, you can bolt the vibration isolators directly to your manifold. if you do not have, or do not want to use, the eight bolt pattern, we offer a 1/4” thick aluminum adapter which bolts directly into the Dominator holes in your manifold, and will then accept the vibration isolator.
We offer isolators in several different models and more are on the way. The Dominator models come in 2.000, 2.200, and 2.400 bore sizes. 

I found this note that I sent to Dick Maskins when I made my first Carburetor Vibration Isolators. He was racing Pro Stock at the time, and was ecstatic when he saw the results! This was before fuel injection was mandated to be used by NHRA. Many of the top Pro Stock teams quickly followed Maskin’s lead, and I was rewarded with a short period of success, with the Pro Stock teams.

I have some Carburetor Vibration Isolators which I think may be of interest to you. They smoothed out the fuel curve and increased horsepower in almost every application in which I've tried them. Enclosed are some dyno sheets which Rick Watters sent me when he first tested these Carburetor Vibration Isolators. He has since bought 10 more of them for his customers’ engines. I would like to send you one or two of them so that you could dyno test them yourself and see if they are any advantage to you and your applications. I have Dominator models in 2.000”, 2.200”, and 2.400” bores. If you want to test them simply let me know which size you want and I will send them to you ASAP.
I am currently working with John Kyle at APD to make an isolator which has better flow characteristics. It is based on a compound taper in the bores, which directs the fuel to the intake ports, with less going towards the center of the Plenum. In aluminum these isolators were worth 13 hp over all other shear plates that he tested. We tried the carburetor isolators on a 672 in.³ engine that had the aluminum shear plates which picked it up 13 hp. When we took the shear plates off and put on the carburetor isolators it was only 2 hp better. However, if we can incorporate the design of the aluminum shear plates and the rubber Carburetor Vibration Isolators it should be a significant improvement over what we now have. Currently there are 7° tapered bores on my Carburetor Vibration Isolators. We should have a pair of the multi-angle Carburetor Vibration Isolators poured this week. I will probably do the initial test on one of Larry Morgan's engines. If they do indeed work as we expect, I am sure that you will also want a pair of this new design to test. If they work I will let you know ASAP so that you can get a pair right away. Thanks for all of your help throughout my time in the racing industry. I have always been able to count on you to give me an honest answer and a fair test. Starting a new business in these economic times is really a tough chore. However, I have ideas for a few more new products and I know that I'm going to make it!
