The Ford C6 transmission is found on many full size Ford, Lincoln and Mercury cars. Here are some examples of vehicle that may be able to use this transmission pan:

- 66 – 74 Galaxie
- 66 – 79 Lincolns
- 66 – 80 LTD
- 77 – 79 LTD II
- 66 – 72 Meteor
- 68 – 76 Montego
- 68 – 74 Monterey
- 67 – 73 Mustang
- 66 – 79 Ranchero
- 66 – 79 Thunderbird
- 68 – 76 Torino
Configurations vary so always check your vehicle to verify transmission and to check space available for a larger transmission pan.
These classics had options for several different transmissions. The C4, Cruise-o-Matic, and manual transmissions were also common.
Some Ford trucks and SUVs may also be able to use this pan. If there are frame cross members running under the stock pan, this pan may not clear those cross members. PML part number 9592 is an extra capacity C6 pan and is designed to clear the frame cross members.

Although this pan is stock capacity, it is still larger than a stock pan. Always check your vehicle for clearance before ordering.

The gasket surface is machined flat for a secure seal to the housing.
The drain hole is at the bottom of the image. This will be toward the rear of the vehicle when the pan is installed. A magnetic drain plug and new mounting bolts are included with the pan.

PML designed this pan to work with stock gaskets and filters. Filter supports are not needed as the filter bolts on to the valve body. The fluid level is at the same place with a PML pan or a stock pan so an extension is not needed. The dipstick works the same with a PML pan as with the stock pan.
Both filter kits include a rubber-cork type gasket, which we recommended for use with a PML transmission pan.
These are from Fram and have part numbers FT1025a and FT1037a (longer pick-up spout).
Do not use a filter with the extension tube. The tube rests on the bottom of the stock pan. The PML pan is a different depth and the tube could easily fall out and damage transmission internals.
Optional Temperature Sending Unit Machining
Areas on the driver side and on the passenger's side can optionally can be machined for a temperature sending unit.
There is a machining charge if you want PML to drill and tap the hole. The default hole size is 1/8 NPT. Call or email if you need a different size.
These areas are thick bosses cast into the pan and were added to the pan in 2014.
